  • Anonymous; content descends from the Catalan Atlas tradition and Catalan portolans. Estense Digital Library record could not be opened from this environment.
  • Sampled through the Museo Galileo 'Il mappamondo di Fra Mauro' online exhibition (2021-2025), which serves zoomify tile pyramids of comparison maps by concession of the holding libraries (site states further reproduction forbidden). Why it matters

Mid-15th-century Catalan successor of the Catalan Atlas showing how the Asian interior (Caspian, steppe cities, seated Tartar/Mongol rulers) was redrawn after the Timurid period; a bridge between the 1375 atlas and the printed Ptolemies.
